                            | Inspired by a Currier & Ives print, Jeanne Fallier made this hooked rug for her son, Robert. The U.S.S. Dreadnaught is a clipper ship, like that depicted in the print by Isabel Natti that is also a part of the exhibition. As a child, Jeanne learned embroidery from her grandmother, but she found her passion in hooking rugs, which she believes is "faster and more satisfying." She adds that a good "hooker" combines "artistic ability with a versatile craft." Jeanne's love of needlework fills every room of her home. |
